Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMCM) has officially received the EasyBooks Accounting System, a locally developed financial management solution by EasyBooks Solutions. The handover marks an important milestone in the Council’s efforts to modernise its operations, strengthen financial management and embrace digital transformation.
The system has been introduced to improve the accuracy, efficiency and accessibility of financial information, while supporting timely reporting and informed decision-making. It is also expected to strengthen accountability and transparency in the management of the Council’s financial resources. The initiative aligns with Enabler 2 of the Malawi 2063, Effective Governance Systems and Institutions, by strengthening institutional accountability, transparency, efficiency and responsible resource management.
In his remarks, Managing Director for EasyBooks Solutions, Mr. Samson Fiado, said NMCM’s decision demonstrated confidence in Malawian innovation based on merit and rigorous evaluation. He said the system meets international standards and offers stronger controls, responsive local support and solutions suited to Malawi’s context. He challenged public institutions to consider credible local alternatives to foreign systems.
Speaking during the handover, Board Chairperson of NMCM, Mrs. Angella Chiotcha said the Board had subjected EasyBooks Solutions to rigorous scrutiny before approving its adoption. She said the Board was satisfied that the system meets required financial control standards and provides a credible local alternative to the foreign system previously used by the Council.
The adoption of EasyBooks is therefore more than the introduction of a new computer system; it is a step towards smarter, more efficient and accountable management of Council resources. NMCM is confident that the partnership with EasyBooks Solutions will strengthen its financial management environment and contribute to its vision of a modern, digitally enabled and well-managed regulatory institution.
